Condition

The photograph is slightly too clear. Very good restored condition : only one piece of veneer missing on the upper edge of the lower drawer as visible on the image, and one lift to the veneer on the right side of the middle drawer. Traces of old woodworm damages, not active anymore. Restoration to the feet. A few scratches and tiny chips on the marble top, as expected. Gilding of the bronze mounts probably slightly refreshed. Attractive marquetry and ready to be displayed. This commode is illustrated in Pierre Kjellberg, Le Mobilier Français du XVIIIe siècle, Dictionnaire des Ebénistes et des Menuisiers, Ed. de l’Amateur, 1989, p.68.
