Condition
The photograph is accurate.
Soud and sturdy: underneath the seatrail, a "traverse" has been added to strengthen the structure (traces of previous wooden blocks which have been removed).
It has been re-gilt a long time ago, but now the giltwood is extensively worn.
As visible on the image, there are also many chips on the gesso.
The upholstery is also extensively worn and needs to be changed.
This seat would benefit from a general restoration in order to enhance the beauty of its sculpture and design.
