made of a beautifully figured wumu ebony wood frame inset with a huanghuali floating panel, waisted and bulging to a beaded-edged apron and curved legs ending in hoof feet, all joined to the floor stretchers below

Condition

There is minor strengthening to the corners of the base stretchers. The underside retains its original patina. Minor surface wear and scratches.

Catalogue Note

This exquisite low stand was used for the display of antique ceramics, bronzes and other precious objects. Incense burners were often placed on stands. They were also placed on beds for use as tables.
