Condition

On an uncradled wood panel which is flat and stable. Overall there is nice retention of the painted surface and painting is presentable as is. The still life objects all read well. There is some slight thinness in the browns of the table at far left, in stem of roemer and in shadowed area of the silver cup, but these are relatively minor. Under UV light: there are small retouches in leaf, grapes and stem of roemer at left. Others are scattered on silver cup, rim of pewter plate, herring and knife. The outlines of the salt cellar have been reinforced. Others in background and tablecloth. Most of these are small and of a cosmetic nature and there is no need for further work. In a plain dark brown wood frame.
