On a cradled panel which is flat and stable. There are some minor surface scratches and scuffs, but for the most part the paint surface is well intact and detail in the figure is very good. There are slight thinnesses in arm and drapery at left, and in the red drapery at right shoulder. Examination under UV light reveals retouching throughout the dark background. Other retouches can be seen on fingers and arm lower left; on left breast; right side of right breast; chest; chin and right side of neck; shadowed area of right cheek; hair; and a few isolated ones on face. The painting is presentable and could be hung as is. In an elaborately carved and gilt wood frame.
