The canvas has been relined. The paint surface is under a yellowed varnish. There is a slightly raised craquelure throughout. Overall the paint surface is very well retained with nice detail and strong coloration. Some minor scuffing can be seen at extreme edges. There is a small repaired tear at far right center edge. Examination under UV light reveals some retouching along bottom edge and some along the aforementioned repaired tear at far right. There is a vertical line of retouching at upper right which appears to be along an old stretcher mark. In an elaborately carved and gilt wood and plaster frame with nicks and losses.
