Catalogue Note

This charming and highly atmospheric depiction of a somewhat dilapidated, rural cottage, came to light after the publication of Dr Jaap Bolten's catalogue raisonné of the drawings of Abraham Bloemaert.  Dr Bolten has subsequently confirmed the attribution to Bloemaert on the basis of a digital image and will include this drawing in the forthcoming addenda to his catalogue raisonné.
