Description

  • Louis de Boullogne the Younger
  • A nude man standing among trees
  • Black chalk heightened with white chalk, on brown paper;
    signed and dated, lower center: Louis De Boullongne / 1692

Condition

Hinge mounted to an old sheet of paper which has in turn been hinged to a modern mount. The sheet has very slightly discolored as is evident by the unblemished four edges. There are a number of tears and small losses to the upper and lower edges due to the way in which the sheet has been hinged. The black chalk medium is still reasonably strong throughout this large and impressive sheet. Sold in a giltwood frame.
