Description

  • Adrian Heath
  • Untitled
  • signed and dated 62
  • oil on board
  • 75 by 91cm.; 29½ by 36in.

Provenance

The Hanover Gallery, London, where acquired by Adele and Bernard Schottlander in the 1960s, and thence by descent to the present owner

Condition

The board is bowed and does not sit flush against the wall in the present frame. There are some slight roundings to the tips of the corner of the board, with some further slight scuffs and rubs visible to the board upon close inspection. There is surface dirt and small spots of staining visible and the work would benefit from a light clean. There are also signs of studio detritus, but this excepting the work appears in good overall condition. Ultraviolet light reveals areas of fluorescence which appear in keeping with the nature of the artist's materials and does not suggest retouching. Housed in a thin dark wooden strip frame. Please contact the department on +44 (0) 207 293 6424 if you have any questions regarding the present work.
