Condition
Original canvas. The canvas appears sound. There is some rubbing to the extreme edges of the canvas in places, with some resultant flecks of loss, and there is some fraying to the canvas visible at the upper left vertical edge. There is a scratch to the left side of the lower horizontal edge, with some associated loss, and some further small scratches and scuffs to the canvas in places, including to the ochre and maroon pigment in the upper left quadrant near the upper edge. There are some small flecks of loss in places, including to the cream pigment in the upper right quadrant. There are some fine lines of craquelure apparent to some of the areas of thicker impasto, and there are some losses to some of the impasto tips. There is a very light layer of surface dirt to the work. Subject to the above, the work appears to be in good overall condition.
Ultraviolet light reveals no obvious signs of fluorescence or retouching.
The work is float mounted in a simple painted wooden frame.
