  • dated SEPT 68 on the reverse
  • oil and gouache on board
  • 26 by 24cm.; 10¼ by 9½in.

Provenance

Gimpel Fils, London, where acquired by the present owner

Condition

Unexamined out of frame. The board appears sound. There is a small cut into the board at the top right corner, most probably in keeping with the nature of the artist's materials. There is very slight scuffing to the extreme edges and corners, in line with the work being float-mounted, and traces of surface dirt and studio detritus. There is a very slight possible bloom to the dark blue pigment at the bottom centre of the composition, but this excepting the work appears in very good overall condition. Ultraviolet light reveals no obvious signs of fluorescence or retouching. Housed behind glass in a thick silver gilt frame, float-mounted within a white backing. Unexamined out of frame.
