Exhibited

London, Waddington Galleries, Keith Vaughan, Paintings in Gouache, 24th April - 18th May 1974, cat. no.32.

Condition

Not examined out of the frame. The sheet appears to be affixed in several places to a backing card. The sheet undulates slightly in places, but otherwise appears sound. The edges of the sheet are deckled. There are some losses to some of the gouache in places, most apparent to the black pigments just to the right of centre, with some very small specks of loss elsewhere. There is some slight discolouration to the sheet at the extreme edges of the work, apparent at the lower right corner and at the centre of the left vertical edge. There is also a tiny spot of foxing at the centre of the left edge. Subject to the above, the work appears to be in very good overall condition. The work is float mounted and presented in a painted wooden frame, held under glass. Please telephone the department on +44 (0) 207 293 6424 if you have any questions regarding the present work.
