Condition

The sculpture appears sound. There is some slight rubbing to some of the protruding edges of the sculpture. There is a light scratch to the diver's left shoulder. There are two casting flaws apparent to the thumb and fourth fingers of the diver's right hand. There is some very slight cracking apparent where the diver's feet have been joined to the diving board. There is some light surface dirt and traces of casting residue, and there are one or two minor traces of oxidisation. Subject to the above, the work appears to be in good overall condition. The work is affixed with two bolts to a painted wooden base which has been covered in fabric-covered paper. There are some tears and losses to the paper in places and some of the fabric is frayed and loose. This fabric is also slightly stained in places. Please telephone the department on +44 (0) 207 293 6424 if you have any questions regarding the present work.
