The sheet is affixed with tabs around the edges to a backing card. The sheet is longer than the backing card, and the top and lower edges have been folded and are affixed with tabs to the reverse of the card. The sheet undulates slightly. The edges of the sheet are worn and creased in places, with one or two tears and losses, most apparent along the upper horizontal edge and at the lower left corner, and there is an old repaired tear at the center of the upper edge. There are two horizontal creases running the width of the sheet along the lower edge. There is some discolouration to the sheet, most apparent around the upper, right and lower edges of the sheet, and there is some surface dirt and matter. There is staining around some of the red pigment, inkeeping with the artist's materials. There may be some tiny flecks of loss to the gouache in places.
