FIRST EDITION, 4 volumes, 4to (295 x 230mm.), half-titles, engraved frontispiece and 93 mainly engraved plates (a few lithographed), 28 coloured by hand (all but one of natural history subjects), plate list and errata leaf at end of volume 4, contemporary calf, last 5 plates in vol.2 slightly wormed in margins, plain plates discoloured at edges, bindings rubbed, rebacked and corners restored, new endpapers to 2 vol.
