Catalogue Note
FitzClarence, the illegitimate son of William IV, served under Lord Moira, Marquis of Hastings, in the campaigns against the Mahrattas of 1816-1817. He was then entrusted with a copy of the dispatches concerning the peace to carry overland and this work is an account of his journey.
