Catalogue Note
The first part of this work, entitled Compendium theologiae mohammedicae arabice et latine is an edition in Arabic, with translation, of a small work similar to Abû Sujâ's Mukhtasar and is probably the first printed edition of such an essential Islamic work in the West. The second part is Reland's most important contribution towards a better understanding of Islam in which he sets out to rectify many popular misbeliefs with quotations from the Koran and other Arabic sources.
