Provenance

PRESENTED BY THE AUTHOR to Arthur Fleetwood in 1673. It is likely that this was Arthur Fleetwood Esq., who at the time was of the office of 'Clerk Comptroller of His Majesty's Tents and Pavilions, Revels, Masks, and Masking Garments.' Ogilby in his varied career had been a dancing-master, courtier, a theatre owner between 1620 and 1641; a poet and translator from 1649; and from about 1669, compiler of geographical works and atlases, leading to his magnum opus, Britannia in 1675.
