Catalogue Note

A notable Yeats rarity. Only fifty copies of this first edition were issued to secure American copyright (two copies were entered at the Library of Congress on 9 June 1908). The Golden Helmet was first produced at the Abbey on 19 March 1908 (and Yeats took a curtain-call). The only other publication of the play was in the 1908 collected works.
