3 volumes, 8vo (220 x  138mm.), FIRST ENGLISH BOOK EDITION, SECOND ISSUE, advertisements at the end of volume 3, original dark green fine-ribbed cloth decorated in blind, spines lettered in gilt, later ownership signatures, some spotting to upper cover of volume 1, minor fading to spines, some other minor wear to bindings, some slight spotting internally, some hinges fragile, slight bumping to corners, STILL A NEAR FINE COPY

Catalogue Note

The first issue of the first English book edition was issued by Chapman and Hall earlier in 1845. This was in red cloth pictorially decorated in gilt, and included plates by various artists, engraved by Heath.
