Condition

The tacking edges of this work have been reinforced. There are two patches on the reverse, one in the upper center and one corresponding to a horizontal break in the upper left. The paint layer seems to be in good condition. Under ultraviolet light, it can be seen that an L-shaped break has been restored above the saint furthest to the left and in his forehead. There is some thinness around this break that has been retouched. There are also retouches above and underneath the same figure's arm. There is a restored horizontal break in the cloud and halo surrounding the Madonna in the center of the left side of her figure. There is a large horizontal restoration across the bottom edge that measures about 1 1/2 inches wide. There are isolated dots of retouching within the remainder of the picture. There is a slight weakness in the darkest colors. The condition can be considered good overall.(This condition report has been provided courtesy of Simon Parkes Art Conservation, Inc.)
