Condition

This work is in good condition overall. The colors are vibrant, and the media layer appears stable. A fine line of craquelure is present beginning at the center left edge of the work, extending inwards one inch. A light layer of soiling is present, and four accretions measuring ¼ inch or less each are present in the lower half of the face. Under ultraviolet examination two isolated horizontal areas of inpainting are visible, each measuring one inch in length: the first on the bridge of the figure's nose, and the second along the top of the figure's right eye.
