Acquired in Beijing, July 1944, from Huang Jun (1880-1952) (Huang Bochuan), owner of Tong gu zhai  (according to Max Loehr's notes).

There is a ca. 1cm wide old shallow chip to one side of the jade blade (visible in the catalogue illustration), a ca. 0.5 and a ca. 0.3cm wide old chips to the same side of the blade. The bronze socket is corroded and only partly preserved. It has been reattached to the jade blade as there are traces of an old adhesive visible.
