Condition

The medium is oil on carved wood for the central element, which is suspended by a thread within the larger painted wood shadow box. The work is in good overall condition. There are some nearly imperceptible losses at the extreme edges of the central painted element and some surface dirt throughout on the white shadow box. There is some cracquelure along the surface in some places, as well cracks in the paint at the internal and external joints of the shadow box. Under UV there are a few small areas in the yellows which fluoresce orange, and are slightly different in tone than the surrounding pigment when view with the naked eye. The colors are bold and fresh and the work presents very well.
