Condition
The canvas has not been lined. There are some minor areas of fine craquelure, only visible on close inspection. There is a vertical hairline crack running through the right hand portion of the canvas. There is an area of slight distortion to the canvas to the left of the figure's head. The work retains strong passages of original impasto and is clean an in overall good condition.
UV light inspection reveals areas of fluorescence, however, this would appear to be the artist's original paint rather than retouching.
Held in a gilt composition frame.
