Condition

The panel is sound. There is a milky varnish preventing the UV light from fully penetrating, however examination reveals some retouching to all four corners and in places along the lower edge. There are a few spots of retouching to the right of the white sheet and to the white pigment between the two figures, pertaining to a horizontal surface mark. A few further spots towards the upper part of the left edge, alongside the extreme left side of the window. There is some pigment loss and surface abrasion to the upper left corner, and to both lower corners. There is some abrasion with associated pigment loss at the edges, in particular at the centre of the left edge and the centre of the lower edge. The colours are fresh. This work is in overall good condition.
