Condition

The canvas is not lined. There is a layer of milky varnish preventing UV light from fully penetrating, however, examination under UV light reveals some small spots of retouching to the sky, along the upper edge, and some retouching to the left edge which appears to be related to some old frame rubbing. There is a faint vertical stretcher bar mark along the right edge, which some associated in-filling, and further vertical stretcher bar lines to the centre of the composition and along the left edge, barely visible. There are some fine lines of entirely stable craquelure to the light blue pigment in the sky. This work is in overall good condition.
