Condition

The canvas is not lined. UV examination reveals some intermittent spots of retouching along the upper edge, and a fine line of intermittent re-touching (approx 5cm below the upper edge) possibly due to previous framing where the canvas was originally folded. There are a few further scattered spots and lines of retouching, the most visible of which (approx. 2cm) is towards the centre of the left edge, and a few spots and lines to the back of the central figure. There is some paint loss primarily towards the right part of the upper edge, and a pin-hole sized fleck to the centre of the largest tree. There is some shrinkage below the standing figure's proper left hands, and some further shrinkage visible across all three figures. This work is in overall good condition.
