Condition
Pastel on primed canvas affixed to a board, which is stable and is in turn affixed to a stretcher. The canvas does not appear to be laid down as it is very gently undulating in places. UV examination reveals a tiny spot of darkening, which could be pigment, towards the centre and above the orange horizontal band in the sky. There are scattered fine surface scratches to the lower and right side of the composition, the largest of which is approximately 20cm. long and running towards the centre of the right edge. There are two associated small spots of loss in the lower right quadrant. There is some light abrasion to the surface of the pastel along the right edge of the sheet which is barely visible when framed. This work is in overall good condition.
