Condition

The panel is sound. There is a layer of milky varnish preventing the UV light from fully penetrating, however examination under UV light reveals areas of retouching across the centre of the composition where there is also some associated paint lifting. There is some frame rubbing to the right edge and to the lower right corner, and a paint loss to the centre of the composition. There are very fine lines of paint shrinkage beneath the varnish, barely visible. This work is in overall fairly good condition.
