  • Chess set comprising thirty-two patinated dark brown and brass chess pieces presented on an enamel and gilt-metal inlay chess board, mounted on a wooden table top board with storage drawers for the chess pieces.
  • Table top (closed): 22 3/8 by 39 in.; 57 by 99.1 cm
  • Executed between 1962 and 1966 in an edition of 50 plus 5 artist's proofs.

Condition

The table is composed of wood and wood veneer, the board is enameled and gold-toned metal, the pieces are gold and dark copper-toned metal. The conwork is in good, used condition. There is some wear to the chess board with loss to the enamel scattered in places. There are some small losses and lifting to the wood veneer at the edges. There is some wear and loss to the velour-textured drawer liners. The king measures 3 1/2 in (9 cm) high the game board measures 19 5/8 by 19 5/8 in,; 50 by 50 cm
