Condition
The movement is running at time of cataloguing, however it was not tested for the accuracy of time or duration of the power reserve and may need service at the buyer's discretion. Please note that Sotheby's does not guarantee the future working of the movement. The dial is in a fair condition considering the age of the watch. The case has most likely been polished, the hallmark is still visible on the lug. The case is showing signs of old age considering the oxidation on one of the lugs. Overall it is a fine example of a watch from its time.

Accompanied by a Patek Philippe Extract from the Archives confirming the date of sale on December 12th 1946.
Introduced in 1940, the reference 1480 is particularly attractive thanks to its post-Art Deco design.
The present lot is only the 16th known example of ref. 1480 in yellow gold and, to the best of our knowledge, it has never been offered at auction before.
