Catalogue Note

The Lange Zeitwerk model is the first A. Lange & Söhne mechanical wristwatch to feature a digital numeral display. The time is displayed using three disks: one for the hour and two for the minutes. It took A. Lange & Söhne more than two years to develop a mechanism to make the disks jump rather than turn slowly, as typical date displays do. The very symmetrical appearance of the dial makes the design strict but straightforward. Horizontally, it shows the digital time bridge and vertically, the analogue power reserve and the constant seconds. The sapphire display back allows the wearer to see the movement, consisting of 415 single parts.

The Zeitwerk was awarded with the prestigious Aiguille d'Or at the Grand Prix d'Horlogerie de Genève, the highest distinction in today's watch market.
