Condition

Very fine cast, crisp in all details, with some minor wear to the patina and a few fine scratches to the surface, consistent with age and handling. Some verdegris and minor surface dirt in the crevices of the bronze, with a few very minor chips to the edges of the lower marble plinth. Very decorative and good cast.

Un bronze de ce modèle par Giambologna fut mentionné pour la première fois en 1584, dans l'inventaire de la Villa Médicis, à l'époque résidence romaine du cardinal Ferdinand de Médicis.
