A l'oeil nu le tableau se présente dans un état de conservation moyennement satisfaisant. Il a fait l'objet d'un nettoyage un peu fort au milieu du XXe siècle. Il a fait l'objet d'un réentoilage dans la seconde moitié du XXe siècle qui a un peu tassé la matière. Les bruns dans les fonds sont un peu endommagés et on note des pertes de glacis dans les roses et quelques fleurs. Les couleurs restent toute fois très vives. A la lampe UV, il apparait sous un vernis vert uniforme. Quelques légères reprises dans les pétales du tournesol ainsi que dans les fleurs rouges à l'extrême gauche sont visibles. With the naked eye, the painting is in a correct overall condition. It has been cleaned in the middle of the XXth century in a bit strong way which abraded the surface of the painting. It has been recanvassed at the same period of time in a bit strong way which flattened the surface. The brown colours of the background are a bit dammaged. The glazing disappeared a bit in the roses and in some flowers. The colours are still powerfull. Under the UV lamp the painting is under an uniform green varnish. There are some restorations in the sunflowers petals and in some red flowers at the left of the composition.
