Condition
The surface of the stone sculpture has been cleaned overall which makes the stone appear quite white. The Virgin's crown is missing, some restoration to the veil and the folds of the dress. The Child's head appears to have been reattached (a joint visible on the back). The Virgin is finely carved in the round, as it can be seen on the photograph (web). The Virgin's proper right hand and both hands of the Child are missing. The tip of the Virgin's proper right foot missing. Remains of bird's feet on the Child's proper left thigh. A few minor lacks to the lower edges of the base.

Catalogue Note
