Description

each side of the central section engraved with brickwork and pillars enclosing a door or simulated door, pierced with stars and a rosette,  surmounted by a gallery with four turrets at the corners and a hexagonal pierced and engraved spire, set on stepped base, marked on base, body and spine, each with maker's mark and town mark.

Condition

repair where stem joins foot, 3 turrets crushed and bent, lacks flag, lead solder below ball finial, foot loose.

This maker's mark has now been identified as the maker listed above, see Nürnberger Goldschmiedekunst (the catalogue of Germanisches National Museum), pp. 156-157, mark number 317.  The catalogue lists a Torah crown, Sabbath lamp, and Torah shield, indicating that this maker made a specialty of Judaica.
