  • 24.8 cm.
base applied with a rim of cast berried foliage and incised with Hebrew inscription, baluster-stem with openwork beaded knop, the bowl applied with swags of fruit pendant from coronets marked on base script Meyers and creative hand-made sterling. 

Literature

Dorothy Rainwater in Encyclopedia of American Silver Manufacturers lists William B. Meyers, born in New Brunswick, New Jersey in 1887. He started working in New York in 1907 but returned to New Jersey to found the William B. Meyers Company at 50 Columbus Street, Newark. Rainwater notes that he made reproductions of antiques and ceremonial objects for Jewish temples. He later specialized in silver miniatures and was joined by his son Joseph N. Meyers. He died in 1958.
