Description

  • Parcel-gilt Silver, wood, glass beads
  • height 36 in.
  • 91.6 cm.
chased with diaper between gilt inscribed borders, openwork leaf gallery threaded with glass beads, the interior fitted with inscribed gilt panels, fitted with a pair of plain silver Torah finials, one inscribed. 

Condition

Some nails missing, gilt panels inside possibly replacements for glass, blue velvet lining partly missing.

Catalogue Note

Translation: "This Tik and the Torah within for the repose of the soul of the late Ezekiel Hai Rahamin Michael, may his soul rest in the garden of Eden, who passed on 14th Tevet in the year 1915"
An inscription on the base reads "If the owners want to take this to other places they have permission."
The inside repeats the dedication and verses.
