Condition
Overall in good condition. When viewed in person, the leather of the sofa presents with a slightly less red color than in the catalogue illustration. It is more of a rich dark brown when viewed first-hand. The leather presents with a few surface scratches, minor abrasions and a few areas of minor crazing consistent with age and gentle use. A few areas of discoloration and a few minor surface stains, visible in the catalogue illustration. The proper left leather side of the sofa with an area of discoloration to the lower portion of the leather and darker staining along the left edge. The leather with a few minor restoration, only visible upon close inspection and which don’t affect the solidity of the sofa, concentrated to the proper right upper back edge of the back rest and to the front of the proper right side of the sofa near the armrest. The wood surfaces have been sensitively re-waxed and are in very good condition with a few surface scratches, minor abrasions and minor discoloration consistent with age and gentle use. The upholstery is later and is in very good condition. A great design by Hjort, the sofa of the “Funkis” model is very rare to appear at auction.
