Condition

Overall in good condition. The glazed surface present with some minor irregularities inherent in the making and minor surface dirt to the crevices consistent with age and gentle use. The piece has been examined under black light and presents no evidence of restoration. The body with an inherent firing crack to the interior, consistent with the making process. The base and the screw have been replaced at some point in the history of the piece in a manner that is consistent with the original. The painted wood base with a few minor surface scratches and minor abrasions consistent with age and gentle handling. When seen in person, the vibrant blue glaze enhances the presence of the bird. A good opportunity to acquire a very good example with great provenance.
