Condition

Overall in very good condition. This lamp is being consigned by direct descendants of the original owners from the period, and by all accounts the shade, base and heat cap have originated together since the period. Additionally, all of these components, including the shade leading, display a harmonious gilt patina. The shade with approximately 12 cracks to the glass tiles dispersed throughout. All of these hairline appear stable, and were recently sensitively stabilized by a professional Tiffany conservator. The gilt bronze surfaces of the base with light surface wear and rubbing consistent with age and gentle handling. The base was recently cleaned to minimize surface soiling and natural discolorations, and small and minor losses to the gilding were touched up and enhanced. The sockets, paddle switches and heat cap all display a complementary gilt patina to the base and appear original and undisturbed to the lamp. A beautiful example of this charming Daffodil pattern displaying an artistic and naturalistic glass selection. The rare "Petal" base is a particularly attractive and desirable base pairing and displays harmonious proportions with the shade. Please note that the coloration of the glass is richer and more vibrant than seen in the catalogue illustration, and displays greater nuance to the individual glass tiles. The glass tiles articulating the Daffoldil centers are strongly mottled, imparting the shade with a strong sense of visual interest and depth.
