Overall in very good condition. As is commonly seen with early pieces, the glass surfaces throughout with scattered small and minute air bubble inclusions, occasional particulate inclusions, occasional small open air bubbles, and minor surface irregularities to the interior rim and body, all inherent in the making and not visually detracting. The vase interior with scattered traces of light calcification. The perimeter edge of the underbase with a very small and minor flake (1/8 inch), which is only visible when closely inspecting the underside. The exterior surfaces and underbase with a few fine and light surface scratches. The exterior is beautifully iridized, imparting the vase with strong luminosity. A beautiful double-gourd vase form displaying extraordinary monumental scale and exquisite decoration around the full vase circumference. The decoration is quite unusual and varied, displaying raised cameo with hand-carved etched and stenciled decoration on the blossoms and leaves. The vase presents beautifully in person with strong visual and sculptural presence, and the delicacy of its decoration and coloration is far more impressive and nuanced than seen in the catalogue illustration. Please note that the catalogue illustration was taken with a combination of both reflected and remitted light. When viewed firsthand the coloration of this vase is more subtle and less saturated than seen in the catalogue illustration.
