- “Tel-El-Amarna” Vase
- engraved L.C. Tiffany-Favrile 6372G
- favrile glass
Condition
Overall in very good condition. With a few small and minute air bubble inclusions inherent in the making and not visually detracting. The coloration of this vase is particularly striking and characteristic of Tiffany's Tel-El-Amarna series. When viewed with strong reflected light, the elongated neck is a deep celadon green with silvered multi-color zig-zag decoration; the lower body is a striking turquoise blue; and the applied base and bands on the neck are a contrasting darker turquoise. With a cased white vase interior. The exterior is beautifully iridized, imparting the vase with strong luminous color and a range of jewel-tone hues. An exceptional and striking example displaying elegant proportions, strong coloration and finely-controlled decoration on the collar.
