Description

the archaistic vessel well cast, the mythical bird with upswept wings, long tail feathers curving inwards, body, and head all inlaid in silver and gold with small patches of simulated encrustation, the cylindrical opening on the back forming the vessel and a small aperture at the beak for pouring, the fitted cover with a spherical knop (2)

Condition

In overall good condition, with minor pitting, minor dents, and typical wear throughout. The silver wire inlay appears to be intact, but tarnished. The gilding still quite bright but with faint surface wear. Patches of verdipatination and oxidation present. The mouth rim with a small compression, however the cover still fits well.
