of irregular section, the exterior carved in pierced high relief with four lively cranes, a gentle bamboo tree and a towering pine, the gnarled trunk emerging from rockwork and the upper branches encircling the rim of the vessel, the translucent stone ranging from a pale grayish-brown color to black with characteristic 'hair' inclusions
