the domed cover crisply carved in varying depths of relief to a dark ground with five bats, wu fu, soaring between four large ripe peaches carved with delicate cell-patterns and issuing twisting leaves and peach blossoms, the center with three further peaches joined by a leafing center stem, similarly carved on the conforming lower section, the interior and base lacquered black (2)
Condition
The cover with chips and short cracks to the rim. The lower section with significant loss to the inner rim, loss of black lacquer extending into the interior. There is an approximate 1 1/2 inch split to the rim. There is wear, small nicks and scratches to the base. The carved decoration on the cover and sides is in overall good condition with expected wear.
