the tapered sides rising to a broad shoulder surmounted by a short neck with lipped rim, decorated to the exterior with peony blossoms borne on undulating leafy scrolling stems, repeated at the shoulder, all between a band of upright leaves at the neck and petal lappets around the foot, the base with a six-character mark in underglaze blue

Condition

At the exterior of the mouth rim there is a 1.5 by 1.5 cm flake crack and traces of an old restoration, and a 1.75 cm glaze crack is at the lip. The underside with a T-form glaze crack. With overall typical wear to the enamels.
