Description

  • bronze
of flattened pear-shaped form, delicately painted on each side of the body with a lobed cartouche enclosing a bird perched on narcissus branches to one side, and a bird perched on bamboo to the other, all reserved on a ground of feathery scrolls and chrysanthemum florets in crimson enamel on a pale pink ground, the base enameled white with the four-character seal mark in blue, the rims gilt, stopper, stand (3)

Condition

In overall good condition. There is a short scratch under the eye of the bird on one side. Some expected wear to the surface and enamels, consistent with age. The stopper with some wear to the gilding.
