seated in vajraparyankasana with hands held in dharmachakra mudra, dressed in a long pleated robe, draped over one shoulder, the domed usnisa covered in tight curls and surmounted by a jewel, all supported on a lotus pedestal

Provenance

Collection of Ambassador Edmund A. Gullion (1913-1998), acquired while stationed in Saigon from 1949-1952, and thence by descent.

Condition

The right earlobe has a small section broken off. The left earlobe and the tip of the ear, as well as three fingers on the right hand are bent. A tiny dent to the back below the right shoulder. Some minute nicks to the extremities, and overall wear to the surface, consistent with age. The base plate is lost.
